Buyer checklists and comparisons for owner-run businesses choosing AI and business software, written around the jobs those tools have to do.
Who it’s for
Owners who run the business and do the work: trades, home services, studios, salons and small shops. You don’t have an IT department, so a tool has to work the way you already work. Our guides start from the job, like answering the phone, moving a booking, updating your website or following up, and tell you what to test, what to ask, and what a good answer looks like.
Who publishes it
Company in a Box is published by DavidAgents. DavidAgents makes and sells AgentsFast, an AI employee product for small businesses, which competes in some of the categories these guides cover.
It is a separate publication with its own editorial policy, published by the same company. We don’t describe it as independent of DavidAgents. When a guide covers a job that AgentsFast also does, the people behind this publication benefit if you choose AgentsFast, and you should weigh what we write with that in mind.
What we do about it
- Our checklists work on any product, including ours. They describe jobs and outcomes, not one product’s way of doing them.
- Comparisons show their evidence. Every product claim is labeled Tested by us, Vendor-documented or Not verified, with a date.
- Tasks are fixed before testing. Pass and fail are written down before any product is tried, including AgentsFast.
- AgentsFast can lose, and its failures are reported like anyone else’s.
- Any comparison that includes AgentsFast says so at the top.

How guides are written
AI tools assist with our research and drafting. Before a guide is published, its claims, sources and any test evidence are reviewed against our editorial policy. We don’t invent authors, testers or credentials, so guides are credited to the editors of this publication.
Money
Company in a Box is free to read and carries no ads. Vendors can’t pay for a ranking, a placement or coverage, and our guides carry no affiliate links. If any of that changes, we’ll update this page first and say so at the top of any guide it affects.
DavidAgents earns money when businesses buy AgentsFast. That is the connection described above.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, tell us and we’ll fix it and date the change. Vendors can send corrections with evidence. See corrections and vendor responses.
